A One-Minute Self-Check to Help You Understand Your Body’s Signals
Date: 2026-03-13

Is your prostate asking for help? Take this one-minute self-check to better understand your body’s signals.

Many prostate-related problems do not appear suddenly. They are more like a volume dial that gradually turns up when early signs are repeatedly ignored.

Frequent urination, waking at night to urinate, pressure in the perineal area and ongoing fatigue may remain manageable for some time before they begin to noticeably affect daily life.

This one-minute self-check may help you understand which stage your body may currently be experiencing.

✅ One-minute self-check | How have you felt over the past two weeks?

For each of the following 10 questions, choose the answer that best describes your experience:

Never: 0 points   /   Occasionally: 1 point   /   Often: 3 points

Urinary patterns

You feel the need to urinate frequently during the day, with less than two hours between visits to the toilet.

You get up at least once during the night to urinate.

After urinating, you still feel that your bladder has not emptied completely and feel the need to strain again.

Your urine flow feels weak or starts and stops.

Local sensations

You experience heaviness, pressure, fullness or warmth in the perineum, lower abdomen or inner thighs.

Discomfort becomes noticeably worse after sitting for more than 30 minutes.

You occasionally notice an unusual sensation or discomfort in the lower abdomen after ejaculation.

Overall recovery and wellbeing

Your sleep quality has declined and is easily interrupted by the need to urinate.

You feel noticeably more tired and mentally fatigued than you used to.

Your symptoms become noticeably worse during periods of work pressure, anxiety or emotional tension.

Understanding your score: what may your result suggest?

Green zone | Stable monitoring range: 0–5 points

This suggests that the current rhythm of your prostate and urinary system is generally stable.

Practitioner’s advice: Maintain the habits that are currently supporting this stability. Continue breaking up long periods of sitting and allow your body time to slow down before bed.

Yellow zone | Early warning and adjustment range: 6–15 points

Your prostate may be sending early warning signals. This may indicate that your body’s regulatory system is starting to work harder, with small changes developing in circulation and daily rhythm.

Practitioner’s advice: This is an important time to act. Rather than waiting for the symptoms to become persistent, consider seeking an assessment to understand the underlying pattern, such as damp-heat, Qi stagnation or Yang deficiency, so that appropriate adjustments can begin early.

Red zone | Higher-risk assessment range: 16 points or above

Prostate-related concerns may have developed into a broader pattern of imbalance. Frequent urination, night-time urination and ongoing discomfort may already be affecting your sleep, energy and general wellbeing.

Practitioner’s advice: This is no longer the time to simply put up with the symptoms. It is important to clarify the underlying cause. Is local pelvic circulation restricted, or has the body’s overall recovery capacity become depleted? A structured and individualised recovery plan may be needed.

Practitioner’s Reminder

The people who successfully move beyond recurring discomfort are often those who begin listening to their body’s signals early.

The purpose of a self-check is not to label or diagnose yourself.

It is to help you recognise whether this is the time to monitor, make changes or seek a professional assessment.

If your score falls within the yellow or red zone, do not continue to ignore the signs.

Your body sends warning signals so that you have an opportunity to respond and regain a sense of control.
